It’s A Selah Summer

"He says, "Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10a NIV

As we come to the close of another sorority year, we pause, not in exhaustion, but in intention. We pause in gratitude and in reverence because this is our Selah moment.

Throughout the Book of Psalms, Selah is an invitation to stop, to breathe, to reflect on what God has done and prepare our hearts for what He will do next. It is a sacred pause between seasons.

And that is where we stand.

This year, we have served. We have led.

We have shown up with excellence and commitment. We have strengthened our communities and upheld the legacy entrusted to us.

But now, God is inviting us into something just as meaningful: intentional stillness and a deeper connection.

Selah Summer is not about doing less for the sake of idleness, it’s about creating space for what matters most. One of those sacred spaces is sisterhood.

Sometimes, in the busyness of meetings, planning, and service, we experience each other in motion, but not always in depth. This summer gives us the opportunity to slow down and truly know one another.

To move from surface connection to soul connection. To create space to develop relationships with your sisters; Not just in organized settings, but in intentional, life affirming moments.

This looks like:

  • Inviting a sister to a quiet brunch or coffee, where conversation goes beyond updates and into testimony

  • Taking an evening walk together and sharing what God is doing in your current season

  • Hosting a small gathering in your home with soft music, light food, and honest conversation

  • Checking in with a simple call or text that says, “You were on my heart today”

  • Praying together, not just publicly, but personally and specifically

These are the moments where trust is built and laughter becomes medicine. Where vulnerability becomes strength and sisterhood becomes not just an organization, but a covering.

As we embrace this Selah Summer, may we also remember, while we are resting from labor, we are not resting from love. Let this be a season where we slow down enough to hear God clearly and draw near enough to one another to love deeply. So when we gather again, we won’t just return refreshed; We will return more connected, more aligned, and more rooted in both purpose and each other.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, We thank You for this sorority year, for every moment, every memory, and every sister who has walked alongside us.

As we enter this Selah Summer, help us to embrace stillness. Quiet the noise around us so we can hear You more clearly. Draw us closer to one another. Give us the courage to be present, to be open, and to be intentional with our sisters.

Let this be a season where bonds are deepened, where love is expressed freely, and where no woman feels unseen or alone.

Restore us, renew us, and reconnect us so that when we return, we are stronger together than we have ever been.

In Your loving name, we pray, Amen.
