YEARS SERVED:

  1987-1989

NOTABLE PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Soror Price Covington has been an educator for many years. She has served as an elementary teacher and administrator. She is a specialist for minority student achievement and a supervisor for student teachers at George Mason University.

NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS CHAPTER PRESIDENT:

There was a strong focus on maintaining and strengthening the programs that the chapter had in place such as Teen Lift, RIF, and Senior Citizens. Under her leadership, the chapter continued its work with chartering the Northern Virginia Delta and Community Service (NVDECS) Foundation which became an active foundation that supported the chapter’s activities. The chapter also worked closely with the Omicron Rho chapter and conducted its first membership intake for more than thirty candidates, while implementing newly revised guidelines.

NEW PROGRAMS OR INITIATIVES IMPLEMENTED:

The chapter built on the national programmatic thrusts at that time. It also solidified the implementation of the NVDECS Foundation as a support to our community services and scholarships.

PRESIDENTIAL NUGGET TO IMPART ON NOVAC:

"Each Soror brings unique gifts to the body of the whole. Whether a visionary, manager, leader, 'worker bee,' or cheerleader, each is a necessary component to the success of NoVAC and the Sorority. Never underestimate our talents and skills or the willingness of a Soror to attempt something totally new and different in service to our sisterhood."
