NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS CHAPTER PRESIDENT:

In 2011 under Soror Mann’s leadership, a trip was planned to Ghana in the winter, NoVAC hosted the Spring State Cluster in Alexandria, Virginia, and the NoVAC chapter pin was commissioned in the spring. Her administration helped to implement electronic check-ins for chapter meetings, and NoVAC began its social media presence on Facebook and Twitter.

NEW PROGRAMS OR INITIATIVES IMPLEMENTED:

The following were implemented—NoVAC’s Community Service Committee, NoVAC’s Day of Service, EMBODI, the “Sisters Called to Serve” prayer breakfast and the annual Trailblazer Gala. NoVAC also hosted a Social Action luncheon with The Honorable Marcia Fudge as well as respective symposiums focused on youth, arts, and health.

PRESIDENTIAL NUGGET TO IMPART ON NOVAC:

"NoVAC is a great, multi-generational chapter! Don’t be afraid to raise your hand or volunteer to help out, serve on a committee, or serve as a committee chair or officer.  Get involved! NoVAC is a big chapter, but we’re small in heart. Go to an event; join a committee. It’s a great way to meet sorors. Remember the reason why you wanted to become a Delta and the lifetime commitment.
