NOTABLE PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

 Soror Chinn worked in the field of pediatric anencephalic research at Georgetown University Hospital. While working at BDM International, she served as both Director of Corporate Training and Vice President. She was a member of organizations such as the American Society of Training and Development, the American Society of Professional and Executive Women, and the Association of Educational Communications and Technology. She was also the director of the Mental Health Association of Northern Virginia.

 NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS CHAPTER PRESIDENT:

NoVAC enjoyed many firsts under Soror Chinn’s tenure, including the first Fall Awareness Luncheon, which continued to be part of the chapter’s projects and programs for many years. Soror Chinn served as a walking encyclopedia of Delta information and an excellent instructor for the Sorority’s Delta Internal Development workshops. The chapter also had the honor of co-hosting the 1981 National Convention in Washington, DC. 

 

NEW PROGRAMS OR INITIATIVES IMPLEMENTED:

 Effective managerial systems were established for the chapter, which required written reports of committees and officers and bound copies of the minutes of each biennium. NoVAC also contributed to the United Negro College Fund for the first time in 1980. The chapter also planned and arranged with George Mason University to establish an undergraduate chapter (Omicron Rho) on campus and participated in the chartering of the Fredericksburg area Alumnae Chapter. The procedure of having one president and two vice presidents was established under this administration. The chapter also began working on a 501(c)(3) organization.
