Youth

Enriches youth culturally, socially, and developmentally through the following projects:

Delta Academy - Introduces at-risk girls, aged 11-14, to programs in math, science, and technology. Applications now being accepted.

Delta GEMS (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully) - The goal of GEMS is to develop strong, confident, and goal oriented young women and prepare them to take an active role in their success and society. We do this through mentorship and exposing the girls to educational and cultural experiences that will help them think about, set, and work towards obtaining their goals. The Program is for adolescent girls 14 -18.

EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence) - is the signature program of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.'s current National President, Cynthia M.A. Butler-McIntyre. EMBODI is designed to refocus Delta's efforts to collaborate with other established organizations and agencies to address the plight of African American males, providing a continuum of services to address the specific needs of African-American males through dialogue, recommended strategies, programs and activities.

SOL (Strengthening Our Leaders) - Provides educational enriching opportunities for youth ages 6-14 with existing SOL (Standards of Learning) programs. This includes tutorial support and assistance for SOL preparation, test-taking skills, math, science, reading, language arts, and computer skills.

RIF (Reading is Fundamental) Promotes reading and literacy among children and youth and parental participation in learning. RIF is a program designed to promote literacy by providing young children access to free books.
